Onchae House

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The interior of Onchae House is conceived as an extension of its architectural language, shaped by calmness, restraint, and clarity. Designed for a private family residence in Kota Baru Parahyangan, the interiors focus on creating a warm and composed living environment where daily life can unfold naturally.

Materiality, light, and spatial flow work together to establish a quiet continuity throughout the home.

THE VISION

THE VISION

The interior vision centers on simplicity with intention. Materials are limited and carefully selected, allowing each element to carry presence without overwhelming the space.

Ulin wood and textured concrete introduce warmth and depth, while a neutral palette allows natural light to define the atmosphere. Lighting is used with precision, highlighting key areas and allowing softer transitions elsewhere. The goal is to create an interior that feels balanced, where comfort and clarity coexist.

THE SPACE

Interior spaces are arranged to support both togetherness and retreat. The transition from terrace to foyer sets the tone, shifting from a more open and welcoming atmosphere into a quieter, more introspective interior. The family room becomes the emotional center of the house. Designed without visual distractions, it encourages conversation and connection.

Furniture, lighting, and spatial proportions are carefully composed to support interaction while maintaining a sense of calm. Across the home, each space is defined not by excess elements, but by the relationship between light, material, and proportion.

THE EXPERIENCE

The experience of the interior is gentle and immersive. Light moves softly across surfaces, revealing texture and depth without sharp contrast. Shadows create layers that add dimension while maintaining a sense of stillness.

The home invites both shared moments and quiet solitude. It feels warm without being heavy, minimal without being empty. Every space supports a way of living that is attentive, present, and deeply connected to its occupants.
