Maine Coon
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Maine Coon House is a private residence in Jakarta, designed to respond to both functional living and the distinct personalities of its occupants. Spanning 312m², the project brings together a range of individual needs within a cohesive architectural framework. The home accommodates a layered program shaped by personal interests, from art and automotive collections to quiet retreats and expressive details. Rather than treating these as separate requirements, the design integrates them into a unified spatial composition where individuality and harmony coexist.

Architecture

The project is guided by the intention to elevate spatial quality through sensory and visual experience. Architecture and interior are conceived as a continuous language, with elements repeated and reinterpreted across spaces to create cohesion. The design emphasizes three key ideas: a seamless relationship between interior and exterior, a richness of material and texture, and a distinct atmosphere within each space. The result is a home that feels personal and immersive, offering visual depth without overwhelming its occupants.

THE SPACE
The spatial arrangement follows a clear hierarchy supported by fluid circulation. The foyer introduces the sequence, framing visual connections that extend into the main living areas. The living room and pantry form the central core, linking social spaces to terraces and the surrounding garden. Openings and material continuity guide movement and sightlines,
reinforcing a connection between indoor and outdoor environments. Volumes are carefully shaped to bring natural light deep into the plan, while layered partitions maintain openness alongside privacy. Private areas are positioned as quiet retreats, set apart from the social core yet connected through a circulation flow that feels intuitive and continuous.

THE FEEL
Materiality plays a central role in shaping atmosphere. Wood, stone, fabric, and marble are composed to create a balance of warmth and refinement, adding tactile depth to each space. The house transitions naturally between shared and private areas, supporting both interaction and solitude. Every element, from proportion to material selection, contributes to an environment that feels composed, comfortable, and deeply personal, offering a living experience that is both functional and emotionally grounded.
