Nichi Izakaya Bar and Yakiniku is conceived as an immersive dining environment where interior design shapes both atmosphere and experience. Located in Bandung, the project brings together Japanese minimalism and tropical character to create a space that feels intimate, layered, and highly functional.
The interior is designed to support the rhythm of dining, balancing guest comfort with operational clarity. Each area is carefully considered to ensure a seamless relationship between movement, service, and sensory experience.

Interior
The design is rooted in the Five Elements, translated into material, light, and spatial composition. Natural elements guide the atmosphere, from the grounding presence of stone and water to the warmth of wood and controlled lighting.
The intention is to create an interior that feels both calm and expressive, where clean lines are enriched by texture and detail. The space reflects a balance between restraint and richness, aligning cultural inspiration with contemporary dining expectations.
THE SPACE
The interior unfolds through a sequence of layered environments, moving from a refined entrance into more intimate dining areas and an open outdoor setting. Circulation is fluid and intuitive, guiding guests through varied spatial experiences without interruption. Materials such as timber, stone, and marble define each zone while maintaining continuity across the space
Semi-private areas and service zones are positioned strategically to ensure efficient operations while preserving the overall atmosphere. Light, ventilation, and vegetation are integrated into the interior composition, enhancing comfort and reinforcing the connection to the outdoors. Each space is designed to feel distinct yet interconnected, supporting both social interaction and quieter dining moments.
THE FEEL
The interior is defined by a balance of warmth, texture, and atmosphere. Soft lighting creates intimacy, while natural materials add depth and tactile richness. The experience is both sensory and emotional, where every detail contributes to a setting that feels refined, inviting, and culturally grounded.
