Juden Villa

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Completed in 2025, Juden Villa is a mixed-use residential and commercial project in Bandung, combining a new building of 363.82 m² with an existing structure of 349.6 m² across a total site of 695.42 m².

The design transforms contiguous land into a cohesive architectural extension, accommodating private living, guest or rental spaces, and a dedicated area for the clients passion. The new structure establishes a connection in purpose while remaining distinct in experience, allowing each section to function independently without compromising privacy or spatial clarity.

THE VISION

THE VISION

Juden Villa balances social openness with quiet retreat. Boundaries are present but unobtrusive, giving each part of the villa its own rhythm. A dedicated entrance allows the extension to operate independently, bypassing the main residence entirely. Non-contiguous massing minimizes overlap and sound transfer, ensuring both the existing and new buildings can host activity simultaneously without interference. The design supports interaction where desired, while preserving solitude where needed, a delicate equilibrium of privacy and connectedness.

THE SPACE

Following the natural slope of the site, the villa unfolds across multiple levels, each with a distinct function. At the top, the dual-function showroom and garage houses the clients car collection, positioned to maintain visual connection with living spaces while preserving privacy from the street. The core living areas occupy the middle level, overlooking the showroom, central garden, and rear landscape.

Expansive glazing and cross ventilation ensure light and air flow freely, while the garden acts as a buffer from neighboring sightlines. Bedrooms and secondary living areas occupy the lower level, offering privacy and enclosure. The spatial progression from open to intimate mirrors the natural terrain and reinforces a seamless connection between levels.

THE FEEL

Surfaces remain clean and quiet, creating a backdrop that emphasizes the architecture itself. Functional details are integrated thoughtfully, including an inward-sloping garage roof to channel rainwater internally and ventilated gaps between retaining walls and interiors to reduce humidity. Construction responds to the landscape with supports carefully placed to avoid mature trees and minimize excavation. The result is an environment where architecture and nature coexist in harmony, offering residents an intuitive and grounded experience of daily life.
